Upper-body strength has never been my forte, and that has hurt me a little in one of my main hobbies: yoga. But now that my arms have been firmed and toned with medicine balls and fitness bands, I totally surprised myself when I was able to perform a once difficult pose with some ease. I was able to hold it for more than a minute several times and my heart glowed with pride when the teacher complimented my form.

So apparently, there is quite a personal taste when it comes to protein powder and protein products in general. I personally like the GNC vanilla powder, mixed with soy milk and a cup of frozen fruit for a grand total of 317 calories and 33 g of protein. Joe often calls to check up on us bootcampers, to see if we have any questions or concerns or suggestions. And I usually welcome such calls and think they show what an attentive and caring trainer we have. I'm guilty. Not of eating too much chocolate or being lazy with my exercise schedule. At least, not this time. This time, I'm guilty of not taking proper care of myself and am paying a painful price.
We had lots and lots of family in town this weekend and we ran all over town, sight saw, ate badly, slept little. I didn't work out and I didn't take my vitamins. And guess what?
